Adding Remote in App
What it does
Add an IR Remote Using the IR Blaster
This sets up your phone to control an IR appliance (like an AC or TV) through the IR Blaster device.
Custom Remote
A custom remote lets you combine buttons from many remotes (AC, TV, set-top box, projector, home theatre, and so on) into one simple remote. Instead of switching between different remotes, you get one screen with only the buttons you actually use.
Favourite Channels
This lets you reach your most-watched TV channels straight from the Home screen, without going through the full remote.

Setup
Add an IR Remote Using the IR Blaster
Step 1 — Select the appliance type
1.Go to Add Device → IR Remote.
2.Choose the appliance type:
•Set-Top Box
•Air Conditioner
•TV
•Projector
•Media Streamer
•AV Receiver / Sound Bar
•Disc Player
•Home Automation
•Fan
3.Select your appliance (for example, Air Conditioner).
4.Tap Next.
Step 2 — Select the room and IR Blaster
1.Choose the room where the IR Blaster is installed.
2.Select the IR Blaster device (already added).
3.Enter an appliance name (for example, Samsung AC).
4.Tap Next.
Step 3 — Select the brand and test the remote
1.Search and select the appliance brand (Samsung / LG / Others).
2.You will see several remote profiles (for example, 1/90).
3.Tap the buttons on screen to test the response.
4.If they don't work, switch to the next profile (2/90, 3/90…).
5.Keep testing until the buttons respond.
Custom Remote
How to create a custom remote
1.Open the Remote section.
2.Go to Custom Remote at the top.
3.Tap Edit or Add to create a new layout.
4.Choose the base device (for example, the Home Theatre remote).
5.Select the actions you want to include:
•AC Remote: ON/OFF, Temperature control
•TV Remote: ON/OFF, Volume Up/Down, Exit, Mute
•Projector: ON/OFF, Input change, and more
6.Add all the buttons you need from the different devices.
7.Save the custom remote.
Edit or delete a remote
Edit a remote
1.Open the app and tap Remotes.
2.Select the remote.
3.Tap the Edit icon.
4.Update the Remote Name, the Room, or the Paired Device.
5.Tap Update Remote.
Delete a remote
1.Open the app and tap Remotes.
2.Select the remote.
3.Tap Delete Remote.
4.Confirm.
The remote is removed from the app.
How to use
Add an IR Remote Using the IR Blaster
Step 4 — Save the remote
1.Once any button responds correctly, tap Save.
2.The remote is now added.
Use the remote
1.Go to the Remote Section.
2.Tap the remote name you created.
3.Control your appliance straight from the app.
Custom Remote — teach the app your own remote
The app ships with remote profiles for a large number of brands. Sometimes none of them work, usually with an older appliance or an unusual brand. When that happens you can record the buttons from the original remote yourself, one at a time, and the IR Blaster will remember them.
1.Tap Devices → + → IR Remote.
2.Select the appliance type.
3.Choose the room and the IR Blaster.
4.Enter a name for the appliance.
5.Select the brand and test the remote profiles offered.
6.If none of them work, select Custom Remote.
7.Tap the + icon to add a button.
8.Point the original remote at the IR Blaster.
9.Press that button on the original remote. The IR Blaster records it.
10.Repeat for every button you need — Power, Volume, Channel, Mode, and so on.
11.When all the buttons are recorded, tap Save.
Your custom remote now appears in the Remotes section and works like any other.
You only need to record the buttons you actually use. A four-button remote you built yourself is more useful than a forty-button one you never touch.
Once saved, a custom remote can be used in Scenes, Routines and Automations like any built-in remote.
Real-life example: An old air cooler in the store room has a remote no database knows. Record Power, Speed and Swing — three buttons, two minutes — and it joins the rest of the house.
Open a remote straight from a switch
If a switch is set to the Remote Appliance appliance type, the switch screen shows a Remote option. Tapping it opens the IR remote you already configured, so you do not have to go to the Remotes section at all.
1.Configure the IR remote in the app first.
2.Set the switch's Appliance Type to Remote Appliance.
3.Open that switch.
4.Tap Remote on the switch screen.
The remote opens ready to use, with all its functions — power, volume, channel, temperature, mode and the rest.
Real-life example: The living room TV is on the switch beside the sofa. Open the switch, tap Remote, change the channel. You never leave that one screen.
Favourite Channels
Your most-watched channels sit on the Home page, so you can jump to one without opening the remote and typing a number.
1.Go to the Home page.
2.Scroll to Favourite Channels.
3.Tap a channel icon.
The TV switches to it straight away. It works through the IR remote you have already set up.
Home Automation Remote
Some Beakn lights and touch panels can be driven from the Remotes section directly, so you do not have to go through Devices at all.
1.Tap Remotes.
2.Tap the + icon.
3.Select Home Automation.
4.Tap Next.
5.Select the room where the device is installed.
6.Choose the paired IR Blaster or Sensor Hub.
7.Enter a name for the remote.
8.Select the brand SapTouch.
9.Test the remote and check the device responds.
10.Tap OK, then Save.
This puts your most-used lights and panels in one place and saves hunting through rooms for them.
