Overview
The Smart Lock Pro (BLE) is Beakn's feature-rich Bluetooth smart door lock, designed as the go-to choice for a main door that needs more capability while staying Bluetooth-based (no mandatory WiFi at the door). It replaces a traditional key-only lock with five unlocking methods — fingerprint, PIN, RFID card, mobile app, and OTP — plus a mechanical key fallback, all built on a motorised 6068 mortise sized for standard Indian residential doors.
It runs on Bluetooth 5.2 and is Gateway-ready: pair it with the optional Beakn Gateway to unlock remotely over WiFi/internet from anywhere, or use it purely offline via Bluetooth-range app unlock, fingerprint, PIN, card, or key. FAQ
Does it need WiFi or mains power?
No. It runs on AA batteries and connects via Bluetooth 5.2. WiFi (via optional Beakn Gateway) is only needed for remote/out-of-range unlocking.
How long do the batteries last?
Approximately 6 months per set, with low-battery alerts sent to the app in advance.
What happens if the battery dies completely?
Use the mechanical key (hidden under the sliding cover) or power the lock temporarily via USB-C using a power bank.
Can I unlock it from outside Bluetooth range?
Only with the optional Beakn Gateway, which bridges the lock to home WiFi for remote unlock. Without it, app unlock only works within Bluetooth range.
Does it work with Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri?
No — voice unlock is intentionally not supported for security reasons.
Can I set time-bound/temporary access (e.g., valid only 9am–5pm)?
Not natively at firmware level. Workaround: enrol/delete a fingerprint or issue a fresh OTP each day.
What if I lose an RFID card?
Cancel it instantly from the Beakn app — no need to replace the whole system.
Is it safe to enable geofence auto-unlock?
It's off by default. If enabled, it unlocks based on phone location, which carries some risk from phone theft or GPS spoofing — enable only if you understand the tradeoff.
Can it be used on a double/French door?
Yes — install the lock on the active leaf and add a tower bolt kit (sold separately) on the inactive leaf.
Can it be used on a steel or glass door?
Steel doors: yes, with technician using metal-cutting tools (flag at booking). Glass doors: not supported by the standard range.
Is there a subscription fee for the app?
No — the Beakn app is free with no paywalled features.
What's covered under warranty?
3 years covering manufacturing defects and mechanical/electronic failures under normal use. Physical damage from forced entry or misuse is not covered.
